The Elements Unveiled

Man standing in front of screen with a PowerPoint presentation on it.

Today we officially unveiled the Elements of Learning and Achievement website to our Community of Schools (CoS) group. Throughout the day we explored the effects of trauma with Carl Warren, vicarious trauma presented by the Rape and Domestic Violence Services Australia, introduced the Elements website, and had a brief walk-through of the website including what it contained and where different aspects could be found. Then we kicked off the sharing with our schools sharing successful programs, which will shortly be added to the site. We finished off on a positive note with Ali Palmer presenting on Growing a Culture of Wellbeing.

Many thanks to:

  • Rhett and Looch from Dorchester for sharing the Wirijirbin Nura (Learning Circle)
  • Nicole, James and Adriana from Edgeware for sharing a food technology breakfast program, art wall mural portraits, and PDHPE high intensity training  programs.
  • Rhianna and Ian from Campbell House for sharing an integrated program on gothic literature
  • Nathan from Karningul for sharing how Karningul uses the Elements across their school
  • Patrick and Fernando from Green Square School for sharing a Prezi presentation exploring goal setting through the Elements, and the Baby Blade Project which enabled students to deconstruct and reconstruct a motorcycle.
  • Kaye from Liverpool Hospital School for a fascinating insight into day-to-day life in a hospital school, and how the Elements can be used to focus on what is important for their students and document their progress.
  • Ernie from Dorchester for demonstrating a mathematics lesson by running a maths relay.
Huge thank you to everyone involved in the organisation of this day.
