English is a vital component of a pupil's education and the intention is that students will develop competencies in a range of different areas.
All schools are well equipped to ensure students have the best opportunities to develop their capabilities.
English is taught in many different stages including:
Students will study various texts including books, television shows, poetry and sports matches in the context of reading, writing, spelling and textual analysis.
As each student progresses through their schooling, they will be able to draw on knowledge previously learned and will analyse more difficult texts including the works of Shakespeare, Australian texts and other modern film and literature. Students will utilise software programs such as PowerPoint to present to the other members of their class.
Throughout their education, students will also develop their persuasive writing and communication skills.
